Description

Ripple Veil, part of the TouchDesigner Light Study Collection. Ripple Veil is a live procedural texture born from noticing how light settles into soft, stacked bands as it drifts across gently shifting forms. It pairs perfectly with any still or looping footage, using displacement to render a rich, organic light texture.

Usage Note

Built with native auto-motion and fully adjustable parameter controls, including optional audio analysis demonstration components. The system operates standalone with no external audio wiring required. To drive it with your own audio, route your audio signals to the corresponding parameters. All default and tested parameter ranges are documented in the DAT table.

Re-rolls the whole arrangement; each value is a different, repeatable field.

Pattern Distortion0-50

How finely the field is divided across the frame; low is broad and sweeping, high is dense.

02Swirl3

Texture Zoom0-0.3

How far into the texture the fold reaches when it samples it.

Displace Weightxy

How hard the swirl pushes the surface, set separately for horizontal and vertical.

Flow0-1

Lets the moving gradient steer the fold, combing it into currents instead of open blobs.

03Look6

Period0-10

How large the pattern cells run; small gives fine dense detail, large opens it out.

Rotate-360 to 360

Turns the exposure a little further every frame; near plus or minus 360 barely turns it.

Trail0-1

How long the light stays in frame; higher builds a long exposure where the ribs pile up.

Drift-1.5 to 1.5

Pushes the accumulated light up or down the frame, smearing the ribs into wisps.

Brightness1-2

Overall lift of the finished image, applied last.

Gamma1-4

Lifts the dark end without touching the highlights, where most of this structure lives.

Removes the selected Look.
